Outfit of The Day (OOTD)

Before we start the journey to Balik Pulau, I would like to introduce my outfit of the day! Basically it is to wear what you like and comfortable for you. So I have chosen a shirt with short pants and I brought a bag to keep my own stuffs. I prefer to wear covered shoes but it is nothing goes wrong with slipper too! As long as you are comfortable with it.

Balik Pulau Market

We went to Balik Pulau market to have our brunch there. We reached there around 11am. We have ordered some food such as char koay teow, pasembur, toast bread with kampung eggs and chicken chop rice. All the food there were nice and the prices are reasonable with the portion. We were impressed with the toast bread with kanpung eggs because nowadays it is hard to find people selling toast bread with kampung eggs with such a cheap price!

Address: Junction between Jalan Balik Pulau and Jalan Tun Sardon
Operation Hour: Morning

Char Koay Teow - RM4

 Pasembur - RM4.50 (S) / RM5.50 (L)

Toast Bread with Kampung Eggs - RM2.50

Chicken Chop Rice - RM7

Street Art & Kim Laksa

After having our brunch, we proceeded to the next station which is street art. The place is only a stone away from the Balik Pulau market but we still drive there 😂

This is the other photo which we took with the street art. We failed to take a nice photo with it due to the sun was too bright. After we left the place we only realized that the whole street art was not in the photo but at least all of us were in the photo. HAHA!

Other than taking photo with the street art, we went to try the Kim Laksa too. The shop was just opposite the street art. The laksa was very nice and delicious! The stall is one of the famous laksa stalls in Penang.

Address: 20, Jalan Sungai Air Putih, Bandar Baru Air Putih, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang
Operation Hour: 10am - 5pm

This is the stall which we ordered our laksa from

Laksa - RM4 (S) / RM5 (L)

Then, we have found a nice place for us to take group photo. The place is just near the street art. All of us felt that the wall is just too nice to be as a background so we just took some photos over there.

Church of the Holy Name of Jesus

We went to the famous church in Balik Pulau to take photo too. One of my friend who is Christian told us some of the funny stories about the time when she went to her church. However, we still never forget to take photo.

After taking some photo at the church, some of us were to go to toilet. Therefore, we went into a high school beside the church to "borrow" toilet. We took some photo at the school compound too!

Street Art & Little refreshment

After that, we went to next destination to take photo with the street art. The street art can be said as a "Hidden Street Art" because we have spent a little time on searching this street art as it located in a compound.

There was a stall located outside the compound selling some little refreshment. So each of us bought a packet of coconut water to cool down ourselves because it was a really hot day!

Coconut Water - RM1.50

The "satisfied" face when I got my coconut water

We were too happy to have this cold drink under the hot sun

International Art Village

After that, we went to the next destination which is the International Art Village. It is a new place and none of us know which was the place located. Therefore, we used Waze to lead us to the place. When we reached the place, we met the person-in-charge. He told us that the place is still under construction and not ready open to public yet but he still allowed us to take photo over there.

Address: 466, MK 4, Air Putih, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang

Nutmeg Factory

Then, we went to the Nutmeg Factory. The uncle there was nice and he treated us some nutmeg juices which is good for health. He also taught us how to differentiate the nutmeg and the advantage of eating nutmeg. He showed us some sample of nutmeg and let us differentiate ourselves.

Address: MK 3, 202A, Jalan Tanjung Bungah, Kampung Sungai Pinang, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang
Operation Hour: 9am - 6pm

The uncle also selling some nutmeg products in the shop. The are varieties of products which produced by the uncle's factory and the prices are reasonable.

 Nutmeg Juice - RM8

Nutmeg Cut with Skin - RM4

Organic Nutmeg Tea - RM22

We took some photo in front of the Nutmeg Factory too.

Pantai Pasir Betong

All of us are beach lover and we are lack of Vitamin "Sea"! So we decided to go to the beach which is located at Betong. The environment there was clean and we can relax ourselves there with the sea breeze.

Address: Pulau Betong, 11000 Penang

Balik Kampung

At first, we decided to have a bike ride to the paddy field to enjoy the sunset but we forced to cancel it due to heavy rain. Therefore, we planned to have early dinner here to wait the rain stop. We had a group of 8 and we ordered a lot of food. However, the price was reasonable which each of us only had to pay RM25 per person for this dinner.

As we planned to have a bike ride over there, therefore we have made a booking with the person-in-charge to reserve the bicycle for us at 013-3237777 / 012-4425555.

Address: 278, Jalan Bharu, Kampung Kuala Muda, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang
Operation Hour: 3pm - 10pm (Monday to Friday) / 11am - 10pm (Saturday to Sunday)

After finished our early dinner, it was still heavy rain. We had to cancelled the bike ride and we only took a few photo at the place before we left.

Finally it's the end of our day trip. All of us really enjoy ourselves very much on that day. We created many happy and sweet memories among us. I hope that there would be another day trip in the future!
